Open Letter to a Toxic Personality

I’ve seen the latest exchange between you and {a dear and caring person] and I’m not sure what’s happening. You seem to be turning on those who have been your key supports over the past few years. We (dear person and I to be specific) have held you as a friend and, when you were in need, provided you with support and the means to stay afloat - both you and your ridiculous "publication".

Your online practices have become increasingly more questionable. You unilaterally censor comments posting some and refusing to post others. This is unacceptable in itself but particularly when the reasons/rules are totally unclear. Respected news forums have guidelines for commenting; you have none although a set was drafted for your amendment and use. You post editorial notes, a very unusual and unwelcome practice, which then insinuate you into conversations rather than letting those conversations proceed naturally.  Worse still, your “notes” are not always accurate but reflect simply your view of things. And worse still, although your notes are often demeaning to the ‘target’, you seldom post their responses. What form of editorial standard is this – the Kremlin Rules? You attribute articles from other sources as being done by “Staff” although there really are none of the latter and your ongoing need of a proof-reader/fact checker is legion. I could go on but you get the point and I’m sure that I have just made another rift in our whiplash friendship totally inevitable. At least this time, I’ll know the reason.
